Amy has always been interested in health, nutrition, and wellness and comes from a long line of healers of all varieties. For years, Amy and her son had suffered from a combination of chronic anxiety and depression, digestive distress, IBS, stomach migraines, sleep issues and hormonal imbalances. On paper, they were both very “healthy’. They ate mostly lean proteins and leafy greens, they were in a healthy weight range, and they had ample exercise; and yet they both were struggling and one or both would miss school, work or social engagements every week.

Amy was catching up with an old friend who started telling her about the new career path she had taken.  Her previous work in epigenetics had led her to functional nutrition. Amy listened as her friend, Sarah, talked about how she had two primary groups of clients: professional athletes that were looking to achieve peak performance and chronically stressed individuals with high pressure careers that were looking for ways to heal the damage they were beginning to see in their bodies. Amy immediately asked if Sarah would work with her and her son.

After a thorough intake and evaluation, Sarah made recommendations for Amy and her son to modify their diet and lifestyle. They were extremely skeptical that these changes would have much of an impact on their mental or physical health but decided that they would go ahead and give the recommendations a try. Within a month, Amy’s husband commented that he didn’t know how they were feeling on the inside, but from his observations, there was a marked difference in them. He said they were calmer, more relaxed, more resilient.

After more than three years with these changes, Amy and her son have noticed that they haven’t had a single stomach migraine or bout of IBS, their mental health is markedly improved, they sleep soundly most nights and Amy has only had one hot flash.

To compare and contrast the before and after in how they feel both mentally and physically, it’s nothing short of remarkable.
